Team India need to introspect
Ahmedabad Mirror|October 30, 2024
An incredible performance by the Kiwis to have pounded Team India in two consecutive matches to clinch the three-match series 2-0 and create history by winning a Test Series in India for the first time in 69 years.
KIRAT DANI

Beating Team India in its own backyard has not been possible for even the biggest teams in the past decades, while this Latham-led New Zealand pulled off a well-deserved win, displaying a terrific approach, discipline, and game awareness.

The Kiwis cracked it right while playing in absolutely adverse conditions, to where they come from and that too against a very formidable Team India filled with star-studded players in good form.

NZ batters showed grit and class to outplay Indian bowlers comprising the genius duo of Ashwin and Jadeja, as well as the best bowler in the world, Jaspreet Bumrah.

Washington Sundar ended up with 11 wickets in the game, showing that the Kiwi batters were well prepared and didn't fall prey to the Ashwin-Jadeja combination.

Indian batters, on the other side, fell apart in their own backyard on a rank turner, looking clueless and planless of their intent of negotiating the Kiwi spinners.

Kudos to Santner who showed the class, maturity, and determination, reminding Daniel Vettori from the time, to humiliate the Indian batsmen, making them look like rookies at home.
