This New Year, 'Tent tourism' a major hit

Luxury tents at Rann Utsav cost up to Rs 55k while Rajasthan's Jawai charges up to Rs 1 lakh per night

That a new class of holidaymakers is willing to spend up to Rs 1 lakh per night to stay in a luxury tent in a forest area, enjoying top-notch hospitality while immersed in nature.

In Kutch, hospitality companies have set up 200 to 250 rooms and tents in Dholavira. Most of these are tents in various categories, including air-conditioned and deluxe options.

At the Rann Utsav venue in Dhordo, the Darbari and Rajwadi suites cost Rs 55,500 (for four people) and Rs 30,000 (for two people) per night, respectively. Other options, like non-AC Swiss cottages, deluxe AC Swiss cottages, premium tents, and super premium tents, range from Rs 5,500 to Rs 9,500 per person.
