Woman candidate barred from GPSC over exam misconduct

HC upholds decision; she is barred from all future Class 1, 2 exams

A single judge bench and subsequently the division bench of the Gujarat High Court have denied relief to a state GST department employee who was accused of unruly behaviour during a Class 1 & 2 recruitment examination.

The High Court ruled that a full-fledged inquiry was unnecessary as the candidate had admitted her guilt. The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has now barred her from future examinations for Class 1 and 2 posts.
