THE Israeli military has staged a "daring" mission to rescue a hostage held in Gaza for 326 days.
Kaid Farhan Elkadi, a 52-year-old Bedouin Arab, had been kidnapped by Hamas gunmen in the October 7 attacks. The father of 11's family had not heard from him for nearly a year.
His rescue involved a "complex operation in the southern Gaza Strip" by the Israel Defence Forces and Shin Bet domestic security service.
No further details could be published "due to considerations of the safety of our hostages, the security of our forces and national security", a statement said.
Mr Elkadi was last night in a stable condition and has been transferred to hospital for medical checks.
Video footage released online showed several members of his family running through the grounds of the Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheba, Israel, to be reunited with him.
