LITERALLY frozen in time... breathtaking 3D images show explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton's ageless ship Endurance preserved on the icy Antarctica seabed.
Taken nearly 9,870 feet down in the Weddell Sea, the new images showing dinner plates, a flare gun and a lone boot, make it appear like the three-masted schooner barque has just been abandoned.
Lost to the world in 1915, it was finally found and photographed in 2022. The images have now been released before the documentary The Endurance hits UK cinemas on Monday.
The extraordinary detail of the digital acan of the wreck 25,000 high-resolution images has thrilled experts and naval historians.
They are particularly excited about the flare gun, fired by expedition photographer Frank Hurley as the ship was lost to the ice - a dramatic moment logged in the crew's journals.
