Guilty Trump lashes out in rambling tirade as his backers call for uprising

In a scattergun attack the ex-president claimed his trial was "rigged".

And he called the judge yet to sentence him a "conflicted... devil".

The 77-year-old lashed out as his supporters many from the far Right -threatened an uprising and civil war.

Trump could face up to four years in jail after a New York jury on Thursday found him guilty of all 34 counts that he faced of falsifying business records, though he is likely to receive a much lesser sentence.

The charges related to payments to porn star Stormy Daniels to stop her revealing details of an alleged affair with him, which he denied.

The historic verdict is the first time a former or serving US president has been found guilty of a crime. Trump is due to be sentenced on July 11.

Yesterday, the Republican presidential candidate came out all guns blazing. In a 33-minute rambling speech, he blasted the trial judge and the district attorney who brought the case, before turning on his rival, President Joe Biden, and finally immigrants.

Trump fumed: "This was a disgrace... a rigged trial."

He said of Judge Juan Merchan, "he looks like an angel, but he's really a devil", adding: "There's never been a more conflicted judge.
