LOW-CARBON heating is attractive to half of homeowners, but most know too little about it to make an informed choice, a study suggests.
The UK aims to hit net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, with an ambitious target of installing 600,000 heat pumps per year by 2028 - yet 2023's national annual sales were 60,000.
Now a poll reveals that despite 49% of consumers enthusing about low-carbon heating, 73% do not know how it works and is installed.
Experts and manufacturers say heat pumps which even work in countries with outside temperatures as low as -20C can heat any UK home.
