Musk on menu for leaders’ tete-a-tete

The PM and the French President dined at Chequers - Sir Keir's country residence - where they were due to discuss Ukraine, illegal migration and the use of artificial intelligence.

They were also expected to talk about Elon Musk's repeated interventions into UK and European politics.

Dealing with Mr Trump's return as US President on January 20 is a priority for the pair who have both endured a turbulent few months.

Sir Keir's poll ratings have plummeted in his first six months in No 10 while Mr Macron was plunged into a fresh political crisis last month when Michel Barnier resigned as France's PM after losing a no confidence vote.

The two leaders this week both hit back at Mr Musk, the world's richest person and a close ally of Mr Trump.
