MORE than half of parents feel trapped into living near their own mums and dads as childcare is so costly, research has revealed.
The average family relies on 468 hours of grandparent support a year worth about £4,633 in free childcare.
Zoopla's study of over 2,000 UK mums and dads with children under the age of 13 found they are stuck in a "parent trap".
Some 50% live less than five miles from their child's nearest grandparent, while 68% live within 30 minutes.
