Reckless e-bikers get much too easy a ride

W 'HEN are the authorities going to catch up with the reality of electric bikes? No, I don't especially mean the for-hire versions that litter the pavements and roads of our towns and cities. 

They're annoying enough.

I'm looking at you, Lime Bikes. How people in wheelchairs are supposed to cope with the blockades, I shudder to think.

What I mean are electric models in general, given they now seem as zippy as motor scooters and certainly the equal of smaller motorbikes.
