RISHI: YOUR VOTE COUNTS, YOUR VOICE COUNTS... PLEASE USE IT WISELY

In the final 24 hours before polls open, the Prime Minister has told Express readers "your vote counts, your voice counts so please use it wisely." Mr Sunak said the election will be the most consequential in decades and he insisted he will never give up fighting for what he believes in.

As the campaign draws to a close he said in an interview with the Express: "I know there are millions of people who are still making up their minds about who to vote for.

"As we saw the other night, it's not over until it's over and I think a lot of these commentators want to depress people into thinking it doesn't matter, the result is a foregone conclusion.

"But I say let's pull together and prove them wrong.

"Let's send a signal that Britain is a country where people do want their taxes cut, they want immigration reduced and they want pensioners who have worked hard all their life to be looked after.

"That's what is at stake in this election. They are the things I believe in, that's what I think Express readers believe in." One poll has suggested the Tories have narrowed Labour's poll lead as support for Reform declines.

The survey of 20,000 voters by Redfield and Wilton Strategies from June 28 to yesterday put Labour on 41%, the Tories on 22% and Reform on 16% - down two.

Consequences

Last week the strategic consultants had Labour 23 points up.

Two polls show Labour keeping a big lead: Savanta give Labour 39%, Tories 24% and Reform 13%. JL Partners got the same for the two main parties but gave Reform 16%.
