A FEW months into life as a professional head coach and Warrington's Sam Burgess is loving the "weirdness" of it all.

Being top of Super League after five games helps but his predecessor Daryl Powell was in that position after winning all of Wolves' opening eight matches last year.

Powell was sacked before the end of July, so there is little wonder Burgess is not fussed about looking too intently at the table just yet.

The former England captain is more bothered about the team - it was his ethos as a player and continues to be so as Super League's youngest head coach. But has anything surprised him after stepping up from being assistant at South Sydney?
