TERRORISTS are plotting atrocities "much worse than 9/11" and the threat is rising "every day", an Afghan rebel leader has warned.

Ali Maisam Nazary claimed the Taliban is giving extremists fake passports to pose as refugees in the West.

And the foreign relations chief of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan warned terrorist training camps have been re-established, with jihadists having the "capabilities" to hit targets in Europe and the US.

Mr Nazary also told the Express that terrorist groups are thriving in his war-torn country's power vacuum.

Britain, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, is said to have "verified" reports of the Taliban supporting and helping terrorists.

He warned London: "There has been a distribution of passports to terrorists.
