ROY HODGSON says there is never a good time to play Manchester United - even if the Red Devils are seemingly one defeat from another crisis.

Erik ten Hag's side bounced back from three straight defeats with a gritty 1-0 victory on the road at Burnley on Saturday night thanks to a brilliant goal by Bruno Fernandes (below).

Yet in the view of experienced Hodgson, United's financial superiority means a gutsy performance will still be required from the Eagles if they are to eliminate the Red Devils.

He said: "I'm trying to think of a time in my career, in the many matches I've had there, when I've been happy to go there thinking this is a good time to play them.
