The US rapper is being detained at New York's Metropolitan Detention Centre which housed disgraced British socialite Maxwell before she was convicted of sex trafficking.
Combs, who has been charged with abusing women for more than a decade and presiding over sordid sexual encounters called "freak offs", is in custody after he was denied bail.
Yesterday, the 54-year-old woke for the first time in the jail, which is known for its brutal conditions.
During Maxwell's time there, her lawyers claimed she was held in harsher conditions than the world's most heinous criminals.
Her legal team added the MDC was more restrictive than America's only supermax prison and that a $1million bounty had been placed on her head.
Combs can expect to be monitored 24 hours a day while also facing strip and body cavity searches.
A jail insider told the Mirror: "Some people have gone into the MDC and never come out.
