Mirror exhibition celebrates refugees

THEY came from all walks of life and all corners of the globe to share stories of human conflict, movement and, ultimately, hope.

More than 200 special guests gathered for the opening of the Mirror's People Move exhibition last night as part of a series of events to mark the start of Refugee Week 2023. And it was an uplifting, emotional affair.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan told guests how proud he was of the capital's history of taking in refugees. He said: "One of the reasons we are the world's greatest city is because of the work and contribution of successive generations of people who have come to London.

"Our city's history is littered with the contribution made by refugees.

"Since Adam was a boy, people have been moving. We've got to educate people about why this country's great."
