Iwobi warns: We cannot be the side that destroys our long, proud history of being a top-flight team

EVERTON stars must put themselves of on the right side history by ensuring that they remain a club that never goes down.

That is the message from midfielder Alex Iwobi, who is confident the relegation-threatened Merseysiders can get the six points he believes will be enough to keep them in the Premier League.

Everton's proud record means they are the team with the most seasons in English football's top-flight history, 120 campaigns in total in Division One and Premier League.

They are also behind only Arsenal in the list of successive seasons in the top flight, with 68 consecutive campaigns since they were promoted back into Division One in 1954. And Iwobi believes the current generation is determined to continue that run.
