IAN BOTHAM has called for cricket to scale back on its use of decision-making technology and let the umpires do their job.
The former England all-rounder accepts there is a place for DRS, but believes cricket - like football has gone too far in its hi-tech embrace.
He wants to see a row back to speed up the game and allow the on-field officials to have a proper say.
"I'm getting bored. watching VAR and DRS. It's just a nonsense way to slow the whole game down," said Lord Botham.
"Get on with it, let the referee do his job and if there's a howler, then let DRS and VAR intervene. But not every tackle. Not every time the ball goes (out), every time there's a goal.
Im saying it's for the howler, but not to intervene after every ball.
