We still love camping.. just don't talk about the bugs and snoring

THIS might be one of the worst summers on record, but 82% of us still love camping, a poll suggests.

With overseas holidays out of reach for many households this year, 44% of those polled said they were camping in the UK this summer to save money.

Asked what was best about being under canvas, simply getting a bit of peace and quiet came top, polling 44%.

Star gazing (34%), morning birdsong (27%), the sound of rain falling on the tent (26%) and the smell of bacon frying on a stove (26%) were other delights.
