ISRAELI Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed his popular defence minister Yoav Gallant.
Mr Netanyahu and Mr Gallant have repeatedly been at odds throughout the war in Gaza, but the PM had avoided sacking his rival.
A previous attempt to oust Mr Gallant in March 2023 sparked widespread protests.
In a surprise announcement last night, Mr Netanyahu cited "significant gaps" and a "crisis of trust" between the men.
