Boss O'Neil unfazed by his brutal Cherries axe and says managing is like sitting an exam each week

GARY O'NEIL says his brutal sacking by Bournemouth is part of football after comparing Premier League management to sitting a weekly exam paper.

O'Neil returns to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday for the first time since his summer dismissal by the Cherries, despite steering them to Premier League survival.

The Wolves boss has made an impressive start after being parachuted in just days before the new season.

But the same cannot be said for his Bournemouth successor, Andoni Iraola, whose side are second bottom and winless.

O'Neil says he has emerged from his axing unscathed, but is enjoying feeling the love at Wolves, who have handed him a three-year contract.

He said: "I don't link it to last year. It's a completely new challenge in a completely different club and situation. Last year didn't do anything to me.
