KEIR Starmer insisted Joe Biden is not too old to be US President, as George Clooney urged him to call off his re-election bid.
The Prime Minister last night visited the Oval Office during his first foreign trip to Washington, DC.
Mr Starmer and wife Victoria then attended a White House dinner for leaders and spouses to mark NATO's 75th year.
Earlier, the PM was greeted by Mr Biden at the summit. It came as pressure grows for the 81year-old to quit the presidential race after his poor TV debate against Donald Trump.
Actor Clooney, who hosted a fundraiser for Mr Biden last month, urged the Democrats to pick a new candidate, warning he "cannot win".
He said: "I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as President. I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character.
"Believe in his morals. But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can."
