Dominant Stokes breaks ODI batting record

BEN STOKES is cricket's ultimate team man.

But he claimed yet another incredible personal record to show why he is the greatest England player of his generation.

His innings of 182 was a new England ODI high, beating Jason Roy's 180. But most importantly it set up a huge 181-run win over New Zealand for a 2-1 series lead with one to play.

With the ever-reliable Chris Woakes coming to the boil with the ball to take 3-31 and put the skids under the Kiwis chase, England's 368 all out was never in danger.

 

Stokes hit 15 fours and nine sixes from 124 balls to show he is not only up to speed with ODI cricket in his third game back, but is dominating it again. That is what the great players do.
