AN eleven-year-old girl has been left an orphan after her mum, dad and two sisters were killed in a horrific fireball car crash.
Six people died in what police described as a "truly horrendous collision" between a car and a motorbike on a rural road.
Little Poppie Roller lost her nearest and dearest when her mum Shannen Morgan, 30, her dad Shane Roller, 33, and her sisters Rubie, nine, and Lillie, four, all died at the scene on the A61 between Barnsley, South Yorks, and Wakefield, West Yorks.
The family, from Athersley, had been for a walk before their Ford Focus and the motorbike collided.
Its male rider and female pillion passenger also both died at the scene.
It emerged Poppie would have been with her family but had asked to stay at a friend's house in Barnsley to play.
The friend's dad Paul Hepple, 37, said Poppie's mum Shannen had phoned him earlier in the day asking if she could stay.
Dad-of-four Paul said: "She didn't want to go on the walk that they went on. So we were watching Poppie as she's best mates with our daughter.
She was with our daughter having fun.
And on their way home, that's when the accident happened.
"We were having Sunday dinner as a family, and Poppie's auntie was with us and obviously Poppie was as well.
"And then she got a phone call and she ended up leaving really quickly to go and see what happened."
The software developer added: "The news came slowly, we saw a post on Facebook that there was an incident and it was terrible."
