NOW THAT IS A SUPER MAJORITY

KEIR Starmer was last night on course for a landslide election victory as voters finally booted out the Tories after 14 years of misery, division and catastrophe.

The exit poll predicted Labour would secure a majority of 170, ushering in hope for a country worn down by needless austerity. Mr Starmer was forecast to win 410 seats, up from 205.

The Labour leader said afterwards: "To everyone who has campaigned for Labour in this election, to everyone who voted for us and put their trust in our changed party, thank you."

In a brutal reckoning, Rishi Sunak's party are on course to be reduced to 131 MPs from 345.

Former Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson called it "a massacre" for her party. The Lib Dems are expected to get 61 seats, up from 15.

With the summer sun shining down on him yesterday morning, beaming Mr Starmer arrived to cast his vote with wife Vic at his North London constituency of Holborn and St Pancras at 10am. He urged people to choose "a new age of hope and opportunity after 14 years of chaos and decline".

And it looks like that dream is about to come true, sparking celebrations among millions who have suffered the devastating effects of a string of hopeless Tory PMs.

If confirmed, the election result would mark the most extraordinary comeback for Labour, just five years after it suffered its worst defeat in living memory.
