POST Office campaign hero Alan Bates has said he will reject an "offensive and cruel" compensation offer from the Government.
The former subpostmaster, who has led a two-decade fight for justice in the Horizon scandal, said the amount was about a sixth of what he requested.
Alan, whose battle inspired ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office, told the Telegraph: "The offer is derisory, offensive and, after all this time, cruel... I've heard from several subpostmasters who have received similarly derisory offers."
