ONE in five Brits have fallen victim to a scam in the last year.
Data shows 93% of people were defrauded online, with three-quarters of scams originating on social media and tech platforms.
Polling, shared exclusively with the Mirror by Barclays, found 74% of respondents believe there are more scams online now than a year ago.
One in three also said that after being tricked, they felt less confident in their future ability to spot cons.
