PATIENTS fled a hospital after a knifeman allegedly stabbed two people and armed himself with a pickaxe in a "mad rampage".
The site was locked down as firearms police swooped and arrested a suspect, said to have suffered life-threatening self-inflicted injuries.
One victim was fighting for their life in a critical condition, while the other suffered minor injuries.
An eyewitness claimed the alleged knifeman chased people from the building at around 1.20pm.
The attack at Central Middlesex Hospital in Park Royal, North West London, sparked a major incident.
Some patients barricaded themselves in rooms while hundreds of others were evacuated.
