MOST GP check-ups will soon not be carried out by family doctors, a damning report warned.
It said falling GP numbers risk a "tipping point in the near future".
Author Dr Luisa Pettigrew, a GP and research fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said the drop in GPs delivering care seems unsustainable.
She added: "There is likely to be a tipping point in the near future where the majority of appointments in English general practice are no longer delivered by GPs.
