A PARAMEDIC has told how exhausted NHS workers are being forced out of the city they work in by unaffordable rent hikes.
Logan Vaughn, 31, a 999 crew member, received an eviction notice on his previous tenancy in August and was at risk of becoming homeless.
After struggling to find accommodation he is now paying a staggering £1200 a month to live near his 999 base in Glasgow - almost £500 more than in his previous home.
Campaigners Living Rent have demanded the Scottish Government introduces a national rent cap to protect key workers from unaffordable housing costs.
Logan told The Record: "I'm newly qualified and doing relief work. The shifts are long and I need to be close to several ambulance stations. Work is non-stop and you just want to get home, especially after a night shift.
