UP to eight out of 10 flights were hit by an air traffic control meltdown yesterday, causing chaos to tens of thousands of travellers.
In one of the worst ever incidents of its kind, an automated flight planning system was knocked out for most of the day.
The IT failure with air traffic controllers having to take over manually triggered mayhem.
Scottish passengers were caught up in the chaos.
All flights to and from Scotland were impacted with some delays of up to 12 hours.
