NETFLIX has declared that hit series Baby Reindeer was NOT a true story as it battles Scot Fiona Harvey's multi-million-dollar legal claim.
Harvey was dubbed the "real life Martha" after being exposed online as the inspiration for the stalker in Scots comedian Richard Gadd's smash-hit TV series.
She launched a $130million legal action for damages against Netflix last month claiming her life was ruined by the show.
Now the streaming giant has lodged legal papers in the US courts claiming Fiona's legal action is "without merit".
They claim the show is entirely fictional - despite the claim at the start of every episode that Baby Reindeer is a "true story". Harvey's US lawyer Richard Roth has now hit back at the Netflix claims.
He alleges in his own court papers that Baby Reindeer is "the biggest lie in television history".
He told The Record: "Netflix's motion ties itself in knots. Netflix and Richard Gadd indisputably admit Baby Reindeer is not a true storythe very essence of Ms Harvey's claims.
