A LONELY little boy who just wanted pals for Christmas helped raise enough money to fund groups for children like him for five months.
Benjamin Briggs, five, and his mum Michaela told the Record earlier this month that their mission was to find him some friends.
And last night she said he was beginning to make a breakthrough socially.
Benjamin, from Dunfermline, has spina bifida and hydrocephalus but just wants to be like any other child - out playing with his pals.
Michaela admitted his efforts to make friends with the ablebodied kids he meets in the park end when they just run away.
Benjamin is a very social boy and it tears his mum apart when other children ignore him.
The only place he feels accepted is at Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus (SBH) Scotland's family groups.
