BLOOD was left smeared over windows and walls after witnesses heard "screams for help" in a suspected murder.
Police were called to Tennant Street in Renfrew following reports of an injured man.
Officers attended but 35-year-old Sean Dock was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pictures from the scene show bloody handprints smeared on the window of a ground floor property near the scene.
Other images showed police standing guard after the area was locked down, with evidence markers lining the street.
The walls of the tenement and parts of the pavement were also stained red with blood.
Officers were then spotted at a property on nearby Campbell Street, where police tape was stuck over a door.
Police Scotland confirmed the activity on Campbell Street was linked to the Tennant Street incident.
