BOOGIE BOARD DEATH FIRM IS FINED £10,000

AN outdoor adventure sports company which admitted being responsible for the death of a 12-year-old boy during a boogie boarding trip has been fined £10,000.

Kayden Walker died as a result of severe brain damage after getting into difficulty on the River Tay and spent more than three minutes under water.

Members of Kayden's family called the fine "a joke and a disgrace" and told company director Phil Robinson: "I hope you see his face every time you close your eyes."

Sheriff William Wood told Perth Sheriff Court he had been forced to severely restrict the level of fine because the company had an annual turnover of just £33,000.
