Cops break news to unsuspecting Doug after catching thief with his Emmy prize

BLUE cameraman Planet Doug Allan has revealed he found out about a robbery at his home thanks to one of his Emmy awards.

The Scots wildlife guru had slept through the robbery but was woken up by a phone call from police saying they found the award in the thief's car.

Doug, whose career has seen him regularly film wildlife firsts with Sir David Attenborough, said: "I was phoned up at half past five in the morning. They say, 'This is Avon and Somerset Constabulary here. Have you been robbed? Have you been broken into overnight??
