CAR club membership in Scotland rose by a fifth last year and replaced more than 8000 privately owned vehicles.

Studies by shared transport charity Collaborative Mobility UK (CoMoUK) also found nearly 500,000 journeys were made using shared bikes in 2022.

There were 46,000 car club members in Scotland last year - a 21 per cent rise on the previous 12 months.

On average, each car club vehicle Scotland displaces in 15 private cars, meaning " there were about 8000 fewer vehicles on our roads.
