The Spiders have a chance to move five points clear at the top if they can beat Arbroath at Gayfield in the division’s sole fixture this weekend.

Queen’s have earned narrow 2-1 wins in both of their opening games away to Inverness and at home to Arbroath so far.

Defender Fox reckons it proves there is much more to their make-up than the impressive and slick passing football which has been introduced by new D utch coach Robin Veldman.

“Performances come second to winning in this league,” said Fox. “It doesn’t matter how you get the three points. Sometimes you have to grind it out.

“It can be a test of your character. You’d rather come through that early in the season, then dominate games more as it goes on.
