Steve Clarke might not fancy a move from Hampden to Holyrood but if he did, he'd get the vote of every man, woman and child after the stunt he pulled on Glasgow's south side last night.
Spain came to town on the back of 19 unbeaten European qualifiers in a row - 17 of them won and Clarke ordered them a taxi for their tiki taka and sent them back to the airport with nothing. He was aided and abetted by a group of players who were simply outstanding.
The strip they wore wasn't as brilliant this time. But the men inside it were. Every last one of them, as they carved out a result for the ages.
The 150th anniversary kit was back in its box and when the final whistle went the Spanish were put back in theirs by a Scotland team who just keep getting better.
Two goals from Scott McTominay made it six points from six from Group A. This one was right up Clarke's street - a test of his ability to send out a side that on paper shouldn't have a chance against a top-notch outfit.
Spain, the world's 10th best footballing nation according to FIFA's rankings. Scotland? 32 places below them.
If this were Scottish football, it would be Albion Rovers (42nd) v Kilmarnock (10th) and there aren't many who would give the Coatbridge outfit a chance of creating an upset.
And yet, the 50,000 who sardined themselves into Hampden, believed Clarke's side had an opportunity to give them one of the nights of their lives.
They weren't wrong. Boy, they weren't wrong.
