CELTIC may not want their Old Firm allocation but Marley Watkins was just the ticket for Killie.
The Hoops have rejected the offer of 700 seats for next month's derby at Ibrox on safety grounds.
Glasgow's big two, though, would be well advised to slap a danger warning on Derek McInnes' team after the Viaplay Cup holders suffered the same treatment Rangers got a fortnight ago.
McInnes made Kilmarnock toppling at least one of the Scottish game's giant outfits one of his main priorities for the new season.
Two weeks in and he's managed to knock them both over already.
Last year was a grind on their return to the top flight.
But this year so far has been a thrill ride simply no one in Ayrshire could have seen coming.
And yesterday's result will leave Brendan Rodgers plus his side just as stunned.
The League Cup has been on virtual permanent display at Parkhead, with Celtic having lifted the trophy six times in the last seven years.
But Watkins' 59thminute winner means there's no treble on offer now as the Hoops failed to reach the last eight for the first time in a decade.
Rodgers never lost a single domestic cup match during his first Parkhead tenure.
His record against McInnes' old Aberdeen side was almost just as good with 12 wins out of 13. But this was fully deserved, with Killie matching the huge effort levels they put in to dump Michael Beale's Rangers and more.
What will worry Celts, though, is the lack of firepower on show from them.
Life after Angeball was always expected to be a little less exciting but this was a performance that bordered on the mundane from the champions.
Bar a couple of Kyogo Furuhashi efforts, Will Dennis in the Killie goal barely had a save to make.
