FROZEN IN TERROR

A TERRIFIED mum and her children were left fearing for their lives when an armed balaclava gang carried out a bloodbath attack.

Thugs with guns and knives fired four shots at a Day-Today convenience store in Pollok, Glasgow, on Sunday evening before setting upon two men understood to be the shopkeeper and his brother.

One 35-year-old victim was hacked at with machetes and was rushed to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The petrified local mother, who had been shopping in the store with her 11-year-old son and eightmonth-old baby daughter, told how she fled to a nearby garden and hid with her children as the violent incident unfolded.

"I had just left the shop before it closed at 8pm," she said.

"The two brothers who work there were closing the shutters when four people dressed in black with balaclavas appeared outside.

"They had machetes.

"I grabbed my kids and ran into a back garden to hide.

"Then I heard three or four gunshots ring out. I was frozen in terror."

The gang quickly fled and when the mum felt safe enough to return to the street, she was left sickened by the sight of one of the shop workers soaked in blood.

She continued: "It all happened so fast. I went back round and saw it was a total bloodbath.

"One of the guys was soaked in blood. His blood was everywhere.
