Lynch and Hickey eyeing doubles on the big stage

EXACTLY a year ago Reese Lynch and Sam Hickey made up two-thirds of Scotland's greatest Commonwealth Games boxing squad.

Together with Sean Lazzerini, they were the golden boys of the ring as Saltires flew high at the top of three divisions for the first time in the space of a few remarkable hours in Birmingham.

It's a rush Lynch and Hickey have been chasing ever since.

And they now have their sights set on the next opportunity to land that adrenalin surge at the Paris Olympics next summer.

With Scotland's last Olympic boxer Josh Taylor in their corner, it would take a brave man to bet against them achieving the ultimate amateur double.

Lazzerini has since turned pro and is awaiting his first fight.
