HAMMER KILLER READY TO PULL THE TRIGGER ON SCOTTISH REVOLUTION

A CONVICTED murderer who backed Alex Salmond's Alba party called for the setting up of an "international brigade" to spark a Scottish revolution.

Anti-vaccine campaigner Iain Tough took to social media to encourage followers to join him - saying he was ready to "pull the trigger" on his plans.

In a Facebook rant, Tough offers secret meetings in people's homes, town halls and pubs to build support for a radical movement.

Tough has gathered a following via his Facebook page, The Last Jacobites, where he warns of impending nuclear annihilation and the emergence of a "Fourth Reich".

But his call for and the of an revolution formation "international brigade" has led to concerns over his influence on the fringes of the Scottish nationalist movement.

In 2021 the Daily Record exposed Tough's horrific criminal past after he was revealed as an unofficial campaigner for Alex Salmond's breakaway Alba party.

He was convicted for the murder of his best man Gordon Slaney in Inverness in 1992 after he stabbed his victim in the eye and battered him with a claw hammer.

One anxious caller to the Daily Record said: "This guy claims to be rehabilitated after serving a murder sentence but his rhetoric has been getting out of control.

"He is now getting very sinister, talking about secret meetings and passwords and telling the world he is about to pull the trigger'.

"Given the terrible violence in Tough's past, it is quite disturbing that he seems to be using language that could appeal to people who are unstable. Who knows what outcome his rants might have?"
