He's severely battered and bruised. The gang shouted kill him and stamped on his hearing aid, laughing as they broke it.. Honestly, I've no words

A DISABLED football fan thought he was going to die in a “sickening” attack filmed by a gang of thugs and posted online.

The 18-year-old, who is deaf, was brutally battered by up to 12 youths after the New Year Fife derby between Dunfermline Athletic and Raith Rovers.

The thugs punched out the lad's hearing aid and smashed it before viciously kicking and stamping on him as he lay defenceless on the ground.

As the dazed victim tried to walk away, one brute then kicked him during the attack that has horrified football fans across the country who have seen the footage.

The thugs behind the assault are linked to Dunfermline Athletic - and yesterday club chiefs vowed to ban those responsible. Police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with Tuesday's incident.

The victim's heartbroken mum told the Record she was left "physically sick" after harrowing mobile phone footage of the attack was shared online.

The mum of two, from Kirkcaldy, who asked not to be named, said: "My son is severely battered and bruised. This has broken his heart.

"I don't understand how anyone could do this over a game of football. He was at a bus stop waiting to go home.

"He said he thought he was going to die and nobody was there to help him. His friends ran away because they were scared." She revealed her son's hearing aid was smashed by one of the yobs, who laughed and shouted "kill him" while raining down blows. The mum said: "He was all alone with 12 boys hurting him who does that?
