Minister blasts Braverman as she dismisses Scottish Government call to legalise drugs for personal use

THE UK Government has been branded “out of touch” after Suella Braverman clashed with the Scottish Government over its call to decriminalise drugs for personal use. 

The Home Secretary had a “fiery” meeting in London yesterday where she told Shirley-Anne Somervil le, Scotland’s Social Justice Secretary: “This Government will not be changing our policy on personal use of illegal drugs.

“Illegal drugs destroy lives and communities – they are devastating.

“The proposals I read from the SNP are irresponsible and would do untold damage to our neighbourhoods.
