PAPE SOUARE has vowed to cherish every moment of life at Motherwell seven years after cheating death in a horror car crash.

The former £3.5million Premier League star had to be cut out his Mercedes SUV and airlifted to hospital following the high speed M4 smash that left him with serious leg and facial injuries in September 2016.

That came at the height of the Senegal defender's career with Crystal Palace that had seen him feature 41 times the previous season including in the FA Cup Final defeat by Manchester United at Wembley.

Souare was sidelined for a full calendar year and told he could have been paralysed had the impact that shattered his thigh bone struck centimetres higher.

He only made another eight top-team appearances before spells at Troyes in Ligue 2, Charlton and a two-month stint at Morecambe last season.

But Souare, 33, has been handed an opportunity by the Steelmen after impressing Stuart Kettlewell.
