A NURSE accused of murdering seven newborn babies and trying to kill 10 more wept as she denied attacking the children yesterday.
Lucy Letby, 33, sobbed as she described being led from her home in handcuffs after being arrested.
Letby gave evidence as her parents, John 76, and Susan 62, looked on from the public gallery.
She is accused of attacking C babies in the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital in Cheshire, between June 2015 and June 2016.
Asked by her defence barrister, Ben Myers KC, how many children she would have cared for over that period, she replied: "Probably hundreds."
