KING Charles yesterday met locals in a Highland village which has regenerated itself through green energy.
The monarch, who is spending his summer break at nearby Balmoral, met schoolkids and wellwishers in Tomintoul.
At more than 1100ft above sea level in the Cairngorms, Tomintoul is the Highlands' highest village.
Its population dwindled from about 2000 in the 19th century to just 400 in 2012.
