ALLIES of Alex Salmond have hit out after another historic allegation of sexual assault was made against the former first minister in the wake of his death.
Chris McEleny, Alba Party general secretary, said the late politician should be allowed to "rest in peace" after cops confirmed yesterday they had received a complaint from a woman last month.
Salmond died suddenly aged 69 on October 12 at a political conference in North Macedonia. He was buried last week in his home village of Strichen, Aberdeenshire, following a private funeral service.
Police Scotland said it received a complaint against the independence campaigner regarding a "non-recent" incident of alleged sexual assault.
