The seven-time champion admitted he knew little about the Wimbledon wildcard after setting up their second-round clash.
The Scot, 22, beat future superstars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner as a junior before going to college in USA and earned his invite to SW19 by winning the Rothesay Open last month.
Speaking after practice yesterday, the Serb superstar said: "I have watched some of the videos this morning of his first-round match.
"He has a really complete game. Big serve, aggressive style. He loves to come to the net as well.
